Frank Custy Tribute Concert

GLÓR – Sunday 1st June, 8pm

€25 + €1 Booking fee

This special concert honours the life and legacy of the late Frank Custy from Toonagh in Co. Clare whose contribution to traditional music, hurling and the life of his community, can never be truly measured.

Widely known and respected as a teacher of traditional music, Frank was also a much loved headmaster at Toonagh National School. In his earlier years he was a talented hurler, representing St. Flannan’s College and later, his own parish Ruan, with distinction. He was deeply influenced by the music and teaching methods of the late great Jack Mulkere from Crusheen who set him on the road to becoming one of Co. Clare’s best known and respected music teachers.

This Tribute Concert will feature members of Frank’s own family along with many of his former students some of whom are now well know names in the world of Irish traditional music.
