Celebrating the 75th anniversary of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann
Founded in 1951 to halt the decline of traditional Irish Music and Song, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is now a worldwide movement with 450 branches spread across 22 countries. Through words and muisc, song and dance ‘An Tradaisiún Beo’ will explore the history of Comhaltas in Clare from the first branch in Tulla in 1954, through sessions and ceilis to County Fleadhs and Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, saluting the musicians and members, singers and dancers and the generations of musical families who all form part of ‘The Living Tradition’.
