2.15pm David Sanders Chance Encounters, Last Minute Notions

This debut album from David Sanders will be showcased here at Fleadh Nua 2024. David is joined on this fine release by Alan Wallace, Katie Theasby, Mary Liddy and many more. The album includes a collection of the music and musical influences David has experienced through his playing to date.

David, a native of Kilnaboy in County Clare, is no stranger to the solid rhythm and style of North Clare music. Included are a number of new compositions, from waltzes to jigs and reels, and a lovely song titled Dreaming of Home. Come and join David and friends at this launch in Glór. You are promised a great performance.

3.15pm Dabilla Brú

The internationally recognised multi-instrumentalist Darragh Ó Héiligh is particularly renowned as one of the foremost Uilleann Pipers. He is a sought after and welcome presence at sessions and formal performances all over Ireland. Darragh has appeared on dozens of albums over his award winning career and has performed around the globe in places such as England, Spain, Italy, Germany, America, Canada and Africa.

Oisín Dillon is a highly talented singer, guitarist, and composer hailing from Bettystown, Co Meath. With a strong foundation in Irish traditional music, he fearlessly incorporates elements from various genres including jazz, punk, and electronic dance music into his work. Armed with a Higher National Diploma in Traditional Music Performance, Oisín has been honing his craft as a professional musician for over fifteen years.

Together, they are Dabilla and you will be very welcome to the launch of their new album, Brú.

4.15pm The O’Loughlin Family No Place Like Home

The O’Loughlins are a family of musicians from Corofin, County Clare. Consisting of Martina on accordion and her three sons, Brian on flute, Keith on banjo and Conor on concertina. Their music is steeped in the traditions of North Clare, while also displaying the influences of their various collaborations with musicians from around the world.

They have been involved in a variety of projects, including with the Shandrum Céilí Band and the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. They have played in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, and perform and teach regularly at festivals around Ireland. They are joined on this recording by three of the finest accompanists on the traditional music scene today; Padraic O’Reilly on piano, John Moloney on bodhrán and Marty Barry on guitar. Join them for the launch of their wonderful new album, No Place Like Home.
