Martin Connnolly Tribute Concert

Cois na hAbhna - Saturday 27th May 8.00pm

On Saturday 27th May 2023 at 8pm as part of the Fleadh Nua Festival, a major traditional music event will take place in Cois na hAbhna to honour the legacy of Clare box player Martin Connolly who passed away after a long illness in July 2021.

Because of his legendary status in Irish music, this concert will be a very special tribute with artists coming from all over Ireland and the USA  to pay their respects through music, to a man who has left an indelible mark on the art of traditional music in Clare.

His teaching of the accordion is the stuff of legends with a large number of Clare students winning All Ireland status in every age group, and his award winning Maureen Glynn Memorial band will reform on the night to pay respect to the man who brought them to All Ireland glory in 1999 and to a memorable concert appearance in Carnegie Hall.

Tickets available from Cois na hAbhna
