Aisling Lyons Aistear
Fri 3rd June 6.30pm

From near Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare, Aisling is an accomplished musician, steeped in traditional music. Aistear is a collection of traditional tunes she grew up playing, some of her own compositions and tunes of other composers she admires. Her beautiful composition, ‘Tune for Dad’ played on the harp, was written for her father, the well known singer and musician John Lyons, shortly before he passed away in 2019.  Featuring Aisling playing harp and concertina, together with a number of special guests, this is a must have album.

3 on the Bund Frenzy
Fri 3rd June 7.30pm

‘3 on the Bund’ is an exciting band that came together in March of 2019 after meeting in the University of Limerick’s prestigious Irish World Academy. Their complex, layered arrangements consist of both traditional and newly composed tunes which are played with an energy and a passion that is completely authentic. The band’s 4 members are from varied musical backgrounds, which contribute to their diverse sound; Aisling Lyons who plays harp and concertina is from County Clare, Rebecca McCarthy-Kent on fiddle and piano is from Tramore in County Waterford, Seán Kelliher on guitar and banjo comes from County Kerry and finally, Simon Pfisterer who is originally from Bavaria, Germany, is the uilleann piper of the group. As individuals, all are award-winning and accomplished performers. As a group, they have already travelled to Beijing, Shanghai, the UK and the United States. They have just returned from their first tour of Germany after releasing their debut album Frenzy.

Hugh Healy Ceolaire
Sat 4th June 1.30pm

Hugh Healy is a concertina player from Corofin Co. Clare. Hugh’s highly anticipated debut solo album, Ceolaire, consists of 12 carefully crafted tracks ranging from modern interpretations of airs to intricate reels, with a tightly arranged mix of jigs and hornpipes throughout. Hugh’s skilful musicianship is paired with the well-executed accompaniment of Michael McCague on guitar and bouzouki, Padraig O’Reilly on piano and John Maloney on bodhrán. Harpist Cathy Potter features on the soul-stirring air Mischief Anneal, and a host of Hugh’s friends and family feature on one powerful group track.Ceolaire is a lovely, well-crafted and thoroughly pleasing album. Concertina players will love it, but because Healy is a musician whose music has the inviting smell of turf to it, it’s a collection that’s perfect for anyone who loves traditional music in general. Make an effort to check this one out – you won’t be disappointed!

“For traditional music lovers this album is a must.” – Tony Linnane
